it's been gloomy lately and yesterday we needed a break. so we took off and found ourselves at this amazing structure.
walking through was mind-blowing and all that escaped my lips initially was, "this is so awesome!" about ten million times. christened 'lean on me' the huts were fashioned with saplings by environmental artist patrick dougherty. he weaves structures like this all over the world!
the huts are to stand for two years and i'm so excited to bring river when he is a little older and can run through on his own. can you imagine how big and awesome that memory would be for him as an adult? like a fairytale.

these structures are unbelieveable! everytime i look at your pictures i think of Where the Wild Things Are. i look forward to pictures of river exploring in a couple of years!
oh wow - like something from a storybook. yes, such a beautiful place for river to explore...i think there might be something similar in melbourne's federation square (the main square in melbourne), australia, at the moment! x
I totally see it now Katie! Where the wild things are...
I did see pictures of that Melbourne exhibition Claire. I loved the juxtaposition of the huts against the city! Very neat.
Wow! These are so amazing! I'm going to be in Saint Cloud in a couple of weeks, I hope I'll be able to see these!
