i can usually predict what books he will bring me to read aloud to him, he definitely has his favorites. lately he's been bringing the two japanese board books we have stuffed in with all the others. often i will try to encourage him to pick another rather than stumble through making up haphazard adventures for the varied characters in these foreign stories. but for now, river is none the wiser - although i better stash them away soon before he's onto me and my misdirected plots. ;)
