nineteen month old river is the apple of our eyes, easy-going, impatient and a clown with a bit of a scallywag thrown in (as all good little boys are).
favorite words that we have begun using in succession this week: 'no' emphatically and 'tay - the affirmative (in the sweetest and most eager manner). (be still my 'little rascals' loving heart, can't you just hear spanky and buckwheat - ooohhh-tay!)
favorite jungle gym: mama and her ever growing belly
favorite book: goodnight gorilla
favorite animal: it's tigers and lions i think. he came home from como zoo with a stuffed tiger but both say 'RAWR' so i think it's a tie.
favorite tv character: elmo, of course
river is a very social fellow, saying 'hi' to random fellow-shoppers at the store and it never fails to make me giggle. he calls daddy by name quite frequently, "Da!" and i don't really know if he has a name for me yet. he definitely knows my name but chooses not to employ it at this time (see! scallywag!) he has new words everyday some of which recently i have heard are penguin, lion, bunny. he still signs a few words - more, please, all done and thank you. he endearingly thinks the 'thank you' sign is the same as blowing a kiss.
he loves his cousin and mirinda and knows just how to rile her - whether it be screaming at the top of his lungs to startle her or touching the toy she's playing with (with one finger, mind you) - he's got her number, that's for sure.
he still adores balls in general and has started watching vikings football with daddy. cheering with daddy and watching tackles is a favorite, along with shouting "boom!" whenever we see the ball. his new train set has been garnering his attention and he never misses hearing a whistle blow when we are running errands and labeling it "twain, twain!"
he never misses either of us trying to sneak of bite of something we don't want him to have. continually prompting us to open our mouths and say, "Ahh, Ahh." until he is sure our mouths are empty and he's not missing out on a yummy snack.
he has all four incisors now and was a champ about it, sleeping through the night but having the normal daytime crankiness (i can't blame him).
he's all this and so much more that i can't recall. i hope i captured just a small moment in our time together, time is passing at the speed of light and he changes so much everyday i fear forgetting these days all together. hoping to chronicle these little daily occasions more often.
