highs and lows

i've been struggling with feeling discouraged this week and i know it partly relates to the joys of being a woman at that time of the month. but when i compiled a list of the lows of my busy week along with the highs you can guess what came out on top.

- and +

-the health dept is doing their annual survey at my facility, being the nervous nelly that i am i have not been able to sleep the nights prior - melatonin didn't do the trick
-petra ripping her makeshift bed to shreds - we have just been cleaning up the stuffing but we finally had to retire the poor blanket
-realizing if i go back to school it would involve more pre-reqs than i had originally though, decisions-decisions
-a rainy forecast for our upcoming weekend

vs.

+going to meet miss emma next week
+watching the 4 year old neighbor boy take a whiz on the street in front of our house
+planting a crabapple tree in the front yard - think anne of green gables 'white way of delight'

+whirlwind trips to the cities to see friends and their new house, complete with 80*F and the mugginess of summer - barefoot with short sleeves all evening
+kasey and her hilarious anecdotes, this one cracks me up too
+my rhubarb will be harvest-able in approximately one week
+i planted purple and white salvia (which i didn't realize was so controversial) and coleus last night in my galvanized pails and tubs
+the necessity of filling my birdfeeder 1+ times a week
+friends headed to zambia to love on aids orphans
+shawn mcdonald on shuffle

Hey sweetie-
I am sorry you are having a bad week. State is coming to our facility as well, and they did last year at BVH. I understand that stress!!!
Aa for pre-reqs, what do you have to take?

the only class i'm missing is some communication course and i don't need my sociology and cultural anthropology. bummer. i can take a couple classes before too if i want, but they are not pre-reqs. we shall see what pans out.
