yesterday was perfect. one of those beautiful summer days with no agenda so we decided to get out of the house and take a meal by the river.

it was incredibly peaceful and we spread out our picnic quilt and soaked it all in. i knew it would be one of those summer nights that i would look back on as a defining moment of the season.

the heat index is high today and i am going to spend much of my time indoors and running errands before the big holiday weekend. hoping to pick up some corn on the cob and bacon for blt's for tonight - my favorite summertime meal. stay cool. and enjoy the festivities. summer is finally here. :)

Your picnic sounds so wonderful. I am jealous. We are battling triple digit heat.
And as far as BLTs... I am right there with you. It is my favorite sandwich is the whole world.
