river james - two months

aww, sweet baby boy. as your great grandma put it - you are delightful. i become more aware of this everyday as you grow and change. i can't believe it has been two months since i birthed you, beautiful boy. time flies too quickly and yet sometimes it can't go fast enough, as i can't wait to watch you grow. you are learning all the time and daddy and i love to watch as you figure out new movements and repeat them as we laugh. 

you have been perfecting the high-pitched scream and while it breaks my heart to see you so upset, sometimes it causes me to chuckle - you are certainly stubborn and like to let us know what you think. your most defining trait that comes to mind is your strong desire to be stimulated - before you were even a month old you were demanding that we carry you around the house so you could learn about your environment. you love dark picture frames and mirrors. which leads to me wearing you around the house all day - i always thought the sling would be fun and convenient but you have made it a necessity. as your eyesight is improving you are becoming a tiny bit more content to lay on your play-mat and swing at the toys but your favorite place to be is in our arms checking everything out.

sometimes your daddy and i become frustrated at your opinions and intensity but we also remember how we love that you are letting us in on your personality and what we are seeing of it we love. grow strong river boy.

there are the moments when i want to stop time as i watch you sleeping on my chest and listen to your tiny breaths. i used to think i wanted a baby girl, but baby boy i would not give you up for the world.
 you are the most precious thing to me and i adore you.
