river james - nine months

 

blurry pics = blurry baby - river is becoming such a busy boy. 

interested in everything and constantly learning: to dismantle door-stoppers, tear pages out of books, scream at the top of his lungs (because he can), walk along the furniture. we have a full-on crawler, stair-climber (his favorite), two step taking boy. he loooves table food and has begun to show us even more of his temper if we start eating first - if there is no food on his plate cue the tears, red-face and arm-waving - no patience that one. he has one more tooth but it's not the one i thought it would be. he's working on all four top teeth at once, at the moment he is a little kitty-wompus with two teeth on the left top and none on the right. the nights have been hard, but he is becoming more snuggly by resting his head on my shoulder and then the whole world melts away. first haircut! mom better get on some tutorials though because it was only a trim around the ears and he's fast on his way to developing a baby mullet. he loves playing chase with mom and dad, crawling into our laps (melt me), waving, outside, looking out the front window, chasing the cat, electrical cords (when i tell him 'no' he becomes very charming and vocal essentially telling me 'these are so neat, can't i just play with them a little longer?') i've also noticed he recognizes certain words: daddy, petra, etc. when i was calling for josh the other day he kept looking towards the door to see if he was coming. i'm trying to sign a little more with him as well, hoping it will help alleviate some future melt-downs. nine months is fun.
