work has been...interesting these last few days but i know that i am truly spoiled when i can say that i can't wait for my six day stretch over. this coming from a girl who rarely works more than 3 days in a row. i've been requiring frequent naps to offset rising at dawn everyday. no me gusta. but suffice it to say work has been going swimmingly the last two days, let's just not talk about the 36 power outage in the midst of the heat of the 4th of july weekend. no a/c, no ice water, no lights and no refrigerated food at my place of employment. it was an adventure i will always remember and it's always nice to see the whole facility come together in times of trial to take care of the residents and how close you feel after. my residents were especially darling, the cognitive and the confused. i love them.
i did enjoy my early morning commute all weekend. the roads were dead aside from a lone doe crossing the highway and an occasional fishing boat being tugged to the lake. the fog resting in the valleys of the crops and the water-colored sky make my heart happy every summer morning.
tomorrow my youngest siblings venture south and we will gallivant across the countryside and know why MN is the most beautiful place in the summer.
the rest of the summer is all lined up with the the perfect mix of relaxation and nostalgic activities. fetch with petra at dusk, steaks on the grill, hammock napping, camping, concerts, family reunions. we're gonna do it all. and somehow fit in the rest of my to-do list.
