:the days are long but the years are short - gretchen rubin:
river is growing like a weed - filling out the 9 month old clothing currently. i wonder if he'll always be so tall? lots of changes and new experiences this month. he's shown a great interest in our food and practices his chewing motion - it's the cutest thing to watch. he draws his little lips into an 'O' and chomps away. he's been trying bananas, avocados, mashed potatoes and watermelon. along with rogue licks of whatever we are having for dinner - so much fun! although the solids have currently been put on hold due the diaper sprayer needing to be hooked up. it's on the to-do list. cloth diapers and solid foods don't mix very well. :S
he still loooves to nurse and is very patient when it takes awhile for me to let down - so thankful he still prefers me over the instant gratification of the bottle. not to mention it makes putting him to sleep at bedtime much easier. speaking of bedtime - little man has been favoring sleeping 8 hours straight at night! we still have an occasional night with a few wake-ups but this is major progress people.
other favorite activities include standing in his walker - new favorite toy(!), sitting without assistance as well as laughing at and reaching for the pets.
he gets more fun and easier each and everyday. people are always commenting on how good natured he is and his stellar smile. who knew being a parent could be so wonderful...it's true.
