yesterday i was on break at work and glanced upon a coworker across the way. she is from england and very chic (imagine chic when all i ever see her in is scrubs, somehow she pulls it off). anyways i noticed the jumbo muffin she was eating. you have to know when i have my hands on one of those monster muffins there is bound to be a mess - muffin on the face, muffin in the lap and muffin on the table. i observed her stabilizing the muffin with her fork and cutting a chunk off. she then proceeded to take that in hand and daintily consume her breakfast. WHAT!? i'm sorry but when i eat, i aim to fill my tummy, i don't think about looking cute in the process! of course i know it's not about being cute, it's about manners. i did wonder though if it was a part of her foreign background or if she is just that well-mannered. i guess it's something i can aspire too, better manners.
i remember when a classmate brought in cookies for her birthday in 5th grade. finishing my cookie i looked around the room and saw all the other little girls still nibbling away. all the boys were done though, along with yours truly. :)
