Christmas Cheer

Chopped the tree down over the weekend with the in-laws. I love the smell of a real tree - so festive. And I love the tree farm we go to, so inexpensive and fun! $23 for a scotch pine just shy of 10'.
last year's tree expedition, sadly i did not obtain any photos this year

Yesterday I got into a bit of a baking mode: Banana Bread and Pinepple Vanilla Chip Drop Cookies - they are both the bomb-diggity! And I also cut up some fruit - I used my new Pampered Chef Pineapple Cutter and it's pretty awesome. I love me some fresh pineapple but I always hated cutting it up. This Pampered Chef tool I got for my b-day makes it so much easier and quicker! I also cut up the Granny Smith Apples that nobody wanted to eat(I tried to switch it up and buy Grannies, but apparently my hubby prefers Braeburn Apples - as do I.) and stuck 'em in the crock-pot for 5 hours with some brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Yummy.

To keep the cheer in the kitchen I was listening to one of my favorite Christmas albums: Christmas with the Rat Pack. I highly recommend it. It's timeless and helps fuel the nostalgic feel of Christmas that I love.

Well that's all for now folks. Hubby and I have a date this afternoon!
