two years ago hubby and I found the best deal ever on craigslist. a two year old fixed/declawed cat for free! upon driving 3o miles north and picking up the 18lb cat formerly known as furby we were smitten. he is the most tolerant and love-able cat we ever could have asked for. he is so easy-going and trusting.
his former owners could no longer keep him due to their moving into a rental house where he was not allowed. i remember her name was stacy.
fast forward to a few months ago. i was on break at work with one of my nursing assistants and we were talking about our pets. i mentioned how my cat's name was furby when we first got him but we changed it right away because we absolutely DID NOT like it. she commented on how she used to have a kitty named furby.
funny thing is this girl is from the same neck of the woods where we got our 'furby'. she said she had to get rid of him when she went to college and she gave him to a lady she used to work with but she couldn't recall her name..."stacy?" i asked. she gave me a few more of his distinguishable characteristics that she could remember. but the one that hit the nail right on the head? she remembered that when he was a kitten 'his belly was bigger than his head.' it was him! that same characteristic is so true to this very day! i had found the original owner of my kitty and i was finally able to piece his life together. i know he is 5 years old and i have some of his adorable baby pics. :) what a small world we live in.
