talking 'bout my generation

isn't it strange to think that our children will know very few WWII vets? working at a nursing home, i know plenty of elderly men who were stationed overseas in the 40's. just today at brunch they were listing off the places that they were stationed - philippines, germany, italy, south pacific. being the 80's child that i am, i was born only 40 years after the last world war. i just can't believe how fast the years go and before we know it they will be gone, a piece of history that our kids will only hear about. just a thought.

so today is the big day MN/WI rivalry. too great to see all the hardcore fans proudly flaunting their vikes colors - my residents, the little boys getting off the school bus, and the cleaning girl - at first i was seriously wondering what came over her when she paired sunshine yellow pants and a purple scrub top, but then i remembered - this is Minnesota! i may even watch part of the game tonight, after last sunday's game it's been sounding a teensy bit more interesting. ;)

so we're going to look at a few more houses on thursday evening, i'm just about ready to have a stomach ulcer though - worrying about how many offers can be placed on those houses in the three days until then!
