last week we took a daytrip to the cities to celebrate out 4th wedding anniversary. we had a few things on the agenda, one from my summer to-do list - josh obliged me with a stroll down summit ave in st. paul to ogle the victorian mansions.

several of the houses were for sale and had brochures out front for the taking. as a result we had fun looking a prices and interior pictures of the homes. this was a piece of MN history i had never seen and i appreciated the authentic feel of the neighborhood, apparently there has not been any new construction in this area since the 1920's!
if you have not been to this remarkable avenue i HIGHLY recommend it, there is so much to gape at and soak up.
following our turn on the avenue we made our annual IKEA trip and then went out for all you can eat sushi and hibachi. yum!

Summit ave is my commute every day I work! How far down did you go? There are a few new builds but not many and they are not mansions. My favorite house is a block before snelling.
:) we would have visited you, except it was our anniversary trip. we only went a bit past f. scott fitzgerald's house - i was not dressed appropriately - my shoes were giving me major blisters. you should take a pic of your fave! i loved that all the homes had so much character, not two alike.
I know! When I am driving home from work I am always looking to the side to look at the houses! I will take a picture of it, it's so pretty. Next time you are down you can come visit me at our new house! :)
yes for sure! i am so excited for you guys and i can't wait to see what you do with it! you should do a blog tour of your area before you move and then one of your new neighborhood. please? it would be soo neat.
