(a look back at my first few weeks of pregnancy)

i know this precious time is going to fly by and in fifty years we'll look back and wonder why we were so impatient. but i'll say it now, finding out you are pregnant can be very anti-climactic. so, the stick said PREGNANT and hubs and i go out and celebrate with applebee's but the next day it doesn't seem real. i feel like the same person, is there really another person INSIDE of me? sure feels like a dream. but we are enjoying these last few months where it really feels like just the two of us.
i've begun to exhibit the cliche symptoms and for any mother in her 1st trimester they are VERY reassuring. i don't know where these weird boobs came from and i'm not sure if i like them. waves of nausea - check. i can hardly handle josh eating garlic hummus ACROSS THE ROOM from me without feeling like up-chucking, but i can walk into a resident's room at work that smells strongly of NECROTIC FLESH and not keel over. ha, it's laughable, really.
and apparently i've become a little harder to live with, per hubby. :) darn hormones.
i have started a journal to baby, one entry so far and i just passed up the 6week marker. i'm sure it will be quite full by the time we reach the finish line and i plan to continue it on as our child grows. a sort of baby book, haven't decided when i will present it to them? graduation, wedding day, announcement of their 1st pregnancy? anywho, i hope i keep it up and make one for each child we raise.
this saturday i will be blessed - my 1st ultrasound. yes, even before my inaugural trip to the OB. a local pregnancy resource center has a new ultrasound machine and they need MODELS, between 6 and 16 weeks. how lucky am i. i pray there is a beating heart thumping away in my womb. it will make the next 6 weeks a little easier.
p.s. i hope my pinterest friends haven't read too much into the nursery pics i've been pinning lately. ;)
